PPIA Monash University proudly presents SOUNDSEKERTA 2019: Mosaic of Nation
SOUNDSEKERTA has been well-known for being one of the most prominent and long-awaited music events in Melbourne over the last few years. Not only does it serve as a home to Indonesians living in Australia, but SOUNDSEKERTA also seeks to provide those from different cultural backgrounds with a unique Indonesian musical experience. This year, SOUNDSEKERTA returns on 28 September with a brand-new theme, Mosaic of Nation, ready to wow audiences with its thirteenth appearance at the Melbourne Town Hall. The chosen theme for this year, Mosaic of Nation, carry a message of the power of music in bringing different cultural, ethnic, religious and linguistic pieces of Indonesia together into that of a beautiful mosaic. Besides creating a creative space for the Indonesian community in Australia, SOUNDSEKERTA also aims to give back to the nation by raising the awareness of young Indonesians in preserving the Indonesian culture through their love of music.
The euphoria, though, does not have to start later; you can participate NOW by p’joining SOUNDSEKERTA’s music cover competition that closes at 21 July to win yourself a chance to be the opening number of the event and a meet & greet with the performers. For those who are more interested in photography, don’t worry because SOUNDSEKERTA has you in mind – enter our photography competition to win free tickets and a cash prize of $50. If that’s not appealing enough, you can also help to put an end to our search for master of ceremonies by registering yourself by 24 July for the recruitment.
The first talent for this year’s SOUNDSEKERTA that we’ve revealed in our social media platforms is the famous home-grown singer, Yura Yunita. While the completed line-up is not ready yet to be published, we can still ensure that we will only present the best performers to the Melbourne crowds. As we wait for the rest of the list to be revealed, keep your eyes on our social media updates on Instagram/Twitter: @ppiamonash as well as our Facebook page: PPIA Monash. Presale tickets for $32 are up now, so you better go secure yours quickly before we run out of stock by clicking the link in our Instagram bio. We’ll see everyone in two months and don’t forget to take your favourite companion with you to enjoy the night! With lots of events to go to on a Saturday night in Melbourne, you can expect a well-produced and committed music concert from SOUNDSEKERTA.
