ASEAN Games Australia (AGA) is back !

The AGA is an annual sporting event that strives to advocate a healthy, active lifestyle as well as foster a stronger bond amongst the ASEAN community in Australia through a variety of competitive sports. AGA will feature sports including badminton, basketball, futsal, netball, table tennis, ultimate frisbee and volleyball. Rest assured, this year we are also holding eSport for those who are not interested in physical sports. After conducting a poll, the two most popular games – DOTA 2 and OVERWATCH – are NOW OPEN for participant applications.

Expecting a turnout of up to 1100 participant, what better opportunity to showcase your sportsmanship while forging close friendships?

With 30 days to go till the inaugural ASEAN Games Australia 2018, hosted by the ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO), has put together dedicated team of organizers from across different university in Melbourne with the goal of honing their leadership skills and demonstrating their potential in serving fellow ASEAN students in Australia.

AGA18 will be held on September 7-9 and is set to take place at various venues around Melbourne such as the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, Albert Park Indoor Sports Centre (APISC), Albert Park and DS Internet Cafe.

The games are NOW OPEN to anyone aged 13 and above, with a priority to ASEAN individuals. Come along with the AGA18 team to witness diversity and unity as a volunteer or participate in the games and foster friendships. For those looking to catch all the action, feel free to pop in as a spectator, or visit our traditional games booth. Official AGA merchandise is also up for grabs!

As culture is a significant part of AGA, this year we are inviting the public to join our FREE traditional games from all over the ASEAN countries. Running throughout the day during the 3-day event on the venue, the games will allow you to experience and learn about the various ASEAN cultures from a different perspective. While sports form a large part of AGA, the event welcomes everyone of all ages, backgrounds, and physicality.

Building on all the sporting games and initiatives, the ASEAN Games Australia 2018 promises to create great memories and a home away from home.
